Programming

CONsole Room offers a variety of member-driven panels and events throughout the weekend. In past years, these have included discussion panels, interviews, small group ConSuite Salons, scavenger hunts, musical performances, staging of radio plays, and art demonstrations. We seek to provide a variety of programming for attendees, with hopefully something for everyone.

Programming includes in-person, virtual, and hybrid events that include both remote/virtual and in-person panelists and/or audiences. Some programming (e.g. panels, interviews, etc.) can be pre-recorded for distribution on YouTube. Additional virtual programming is hosted on the Discord platform.

We typically offer 3-4 tracks of programming at the convention, including not just a Doctor Who dedicated track but also cover other science fiction and fantasy shows, movies, as well as British-specific content.

Timeline

In mid-September, we typically hold a virtual brainstorming session to help generate ideas for the upcoming year’s convention. By the end of October, full panel lists and descriptions go live for sign-up - and interested participants have at least a 3-week window to sign up for panels. The sign-up window usually closes by mid-to-late November, so the schedule can then be finalized for publication. If suggestions are received after that cut-off time, they'll usually be held over for the following year's convention.

Suggestions?

Do you have additional programming suggestions? Send them in to programming@console-room.org for consideration. Additionally, please contact us at the same address if you would like to be a panelist. We like to have a variety of folks hosting panels… being a Doctor Who expert is encouraged but not required - and panelists with moderation skills are also very much appreciated. You must be a registered/paid attendee to sign up to be a panelist.
