Foundation and Dune

These two Science Fiction epic classics got new adaptations on visual media recently (Foundation on Apple TV+ and Dune in theaters). What did you think of the presentations? Did they convey the essence of the material (even though the materials are 50+ years old)? How was the updating of the stories for modern audiences accomplished, and did they meet expectations while still remaining true to the essence of the stories?
